Food & Beverage
Did you know gases are added to many food packages, and not all packages have the same gases?
The space in food packages is often filled with gases such as nitrogen, carbon dioxide (available with a Kosher certification), and carbon monoxide. This is called Modified Atmosphere Packaging, or MAP.
MAP gases replace the air inside the package with a specific gas mixture to protect food and slow down spoilage.
